Mission Statement

To create justice tools on the cutting edge of law and technology.

To work towards a justice system more focused on justice than game playing.

To fashion a stronger pillar of American democracy, just as our founders intended.

To promote nobility in what we believe is a noble profession.

About Open Source Law Forum

In the beginning, it seemed we could do things a bit better by collaborating . . .

This all came about because I decided that I want to master the art of courtroom advocacy, a fancy way of saying that I long to be the best trial lawyer I can.

Now, you should know that I cut my teeth as a plaintiff lawyer in Los Angeles, did the Trial Lawyer Association board thing, raised funds for political causes, wrote and lectured on myriad topics having to do with the profession and along the way, had some notable successes, my share of ugly failures and somehow managed to gain some recognition in the community as an able practitioner.

Only, the way I learned it from my father, who I know learned it from his father and so on, up the line, is that it’s all about getting better, no matter where you are in life.

So, I helped start the Civil Justice Program at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, which led to my pet project — the Advanced Trial Skills Institute — intended to bring 21st Century science into the courtroom and that all started me on a journey that led to here.

The concept is simple.  Civil litigators need a wiki where they can share their knowledge and create an excellent resource for the American legal community.

So, here it is.

If you are someone who has expertise in civil law and a passion for excellence, then we welcome your contribution.

Sincerely,

William A. Daniels, Esq., BILL DANIELS | LAW OFFICES, APC, Encino, CA
